Rheal Clean Greens Review

Over three months in 2022, I tested Rheal Clean Greens, a superfood supplement containing eight certified organic and plant-based ingredients. Clean Greens is a convenient and effective way to boost nutrient intake, improve gut health, and support overall wellness.

This is the flagship product of Rheal Superfoods, founded by Charlotte Bailey and Sean Ali, who famously began their business with a Dragon’s Den investment.

But how good is it really?

In this review, I will provide an in-depth look at the ingredients, potential benefits, and any potential drawbacks of Clean Greens based on my personal experience and research.

I’ll also compare it to other top superfood blends to see how it stacks up.

Rheal Greens Review in 30 Seconds: My Verdict:

This is a good simple green powder that’s going to add a lot of alkalising greens to your diet, plus a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from wholefood sources.

I love that it’s all organic and the simple recyclable packaging.

It tastes pretty good, thanks to the pineapple, and they don’t use sweeteners, which I applaud.

Despite the organic, I would like more about ingredient sourcing, including country of origin and certificatory body. I would also prefer clear information on heavy metal testing, which I can’t find on their site.

I would also like to know if the chlorella is cracked, pulverised, fermented or left as is, as I don’t suggest people take chlorella in its original format due to its tough cell wall.

At £25 for 150g, it’s also very well priced. Some of the more complex green powders charge a lot more to cover the fancier ingredients.

Overall, a nice simple powder by a company doing a lot of good stuff.

How Does Rheal Clean Greens Taste?

Rheal Clean Greens has a distinct taste that may take some getting used to for those new to superfood supplements. The taste of Clean Greens is often described as neutral and earthy, with a hint of fruity sweetness.

Clean Greens is made using only superfoods, with no added sugar or sweeteners. This means that the taste is not artificially sweetened but instead has a refreshing and nutritious greens flavour that can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with other ingredients. I really like this about the powder – no nasties or unnecessary additives.

If you find the Clean Greens taste too strong, you may want to try mixing it with other ingredients such as fruit, yoghurt, or nut milk to help mask the taste. Some people also find that adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime can help to balance the flavour and make it more palatable.

Potential Side Effects of Rheal Clean Greens

Rheal Clean Greens are generally safe for most people to consume due to its natural, organic, and plant-based ingredients.

However, there are a few potential side effects to be aware of. Some people may experience digestive discomfort when taking Clean Greens, especially if they are new to taking superfood supplements.

This may include symptoms such as bloating, gas, and stomach cramps. A

Additionally, some people may be allergic to certain ingredients in Clean Greens, such as wheatgrass or spirulina.

Rheal Clean Greens vs Athletic Greens

Both Rheal Clean Greens and Athletic Greens are popular superfood supplements. However, there are some key differences between the two that make comparison difficult.

1. Ingredients

Rheal Clean Greens is made up of just eight organic and plant-based ingredients, including wheatgrass, barley grass, spirulina, moringa, chlorella, baobab, pineapple, and camu camu berry. On the other hand, Athletic Greens contains over 75 ingredients, including a wider range of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. It’s far more complex. In fact, because AG has such complexity, I don’t recommend people take it every day. For a regular powder to take year-round, I would much prefer to take Rheal Clean Greens.

2. Taste

Rheal Clean Greens has a neutral and earthy taste with a hint of fruity sweetness. On the other hand, Athletic Greens has a more complex taste that has been described as slightly sweet with a hint of bitterness.

3. Price

Rheal Clean Greens is much more affordable than Athletic Greens, making it a more accessible option for those on a budget. It’s around £25 vs Athletic Greens £75.

Rheal Clean Greens and Gut Health

Rheal Clean Greens may offer benefits for gut health due to its blend of organic and plant-based ingredients. Here are some ways that Clean Greens may support digestive health:

1. Rich in Fiber

Many of the ingredients in Clean Greens, such as barley grass, chlorella, and baobab powder, are high in fiber. Fiber is essential for healthy digestion as it promotes regular bowel movements and helps to feed the beneficial bacteria in the gut.

2. Promotes Beneficial Gut Bacteria

Clean Greens contains ingredients such as wheatgrass, chlorella, and spirulina, which have prebiotic properties that can promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. These bacteria can help to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and support overall health.

3. May Help Reduce Inflammation

Several of the ingredients in Clean Greens, such as pineapple and camu camu berry powder, have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce gut inflammation. Inflammation in the gut can contribute to digestive issues such as bloating, gas, and diarrhoea.

4. May Aid in Detoxification

Chlorella and barley grass are known for their potential benefits for detoxification. These ingredients may help remove toxins and heavy metals from the body, improving digestive function and overall health.

Overall, Rheal Clean Greens may support gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, improving digestion, reducing inflammation, and aiding in detoxification.
