Lean Greens Review for 2023: Our Verdict

Lean Greens is a powerful 18-ingredient green powder supplement designed to supercharge your health and wellness journey. Packed with essential nutrients, antioxidants, and enzymes, this potent vegetable and superfood powder offers a convenient way to fill nutritional gaps and support optimal health.

I’ve been taking this powder for four months and have spent time digging into its ingredients, provenance, benefits and cost.

So is it worth the money? And how does it compare against other top green supplements?

My Lean Greens Review Verdict in 30 Seconds

Lean Greens Super Greens Powder is a simple formula greens powder. It tastes good (if a little sweet), and has a decent spectrum of ingredients. It’s let down, in my view, by a lack of information about the quality and sustainability of the ingredients.

I’m also not a huge fan of their sweetener: maltodextrin – a highly processed sweetener with a high-glycemic index. This is also the top ingredient of this product which means there’s a lot in there!

(I suggest considering Phytality Supergreens, which wins our top green powder award, as a more sustainable and natural alternative. Also a heck of a lot cheaper)

It costs £48 approximately for 500g, which is expensive, in my view, for something whose top vegetable ingredient is spinach.

But there are still plenty of benefits to Lean Greens.

First and foremost, it easily mixes within 30 seconds, leaving no bits behind in the glass.

This powder is perfect for those with sensitive taste buds as it doesn’t have an overpowering taste. Its neutral flavour allows for effortless blending with juices and smoothies, making it a versatile addition to your daily routine.

Lean Greens serves as a superb nutrient top-up for those days when you struggle to meet your five-a-day quota.

It does have caffeine in it, due to the green tea, which may be a concern for some people.

Finally, the tub is also recyclable in most areas which is a huge plus!

I found the taste perfectly pleasant but a little sweet. It was absolutely fine in water and also in my usual banana smoothie with a little almond milk.

Overall, it’s by no means unpleasant, but equally not one – like Phytality Supergreens – where I love the flavour

Lean Greens vs Athletic Greens: Which is Better?

Lean Greens is purposefully a simpler and cheaper green powder than Athletic Greens, as you can see.

Both Lean Greens and Athletic Greens contain a blend of greens, antioxidants, and digestive enzymes. However, Athletic Greens includes a more extensive list of vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and adaptogens. The additional ingredients in Athletic Greens may provide a more comprehensive nutritional profile, particularly for those seeking added micronutrients and probiotics for gut health.

On the other hand, Lean Greens offers a simpler, more focused formula with fewer ingredients. This may be beneficial for individuals who prefer a greens supplement with a straightforward, easy-to-understand composition.

Overall, while I think Athletic Greens contains almost too many ingredients, I think it’s a better supplement than Lean Greens, principally because of its manufacturing and sourcing standards. I like the fact they conduct extensive product audits that include testing for heavy metals, which isn’t something Lean Greens can boast.

Does Lean Greens Work?

Taking in this much concentrated nutrition is going to alkalise, detoxify and energise your body. That said, the quality of the ingredients is a complete unknown with this product, which I think is a huge issue.
